My training in Hypnosis has been most rewarding. I have used self-hypnosis for over 12 years to cope with my own physical pain (the result of an altercation with a city bus. I was the pedestrian). Thus my story is one of triumph over adversity and hypnosis is the current path I am traveling on in conjunction with my medium ship and channeling abilities. As a Hypnotist I have helped individuals stop smoking, lose weight, reduce stress and explore past lives and thus gain some insight into their current life’s issues and concerns. In brief, here is a short history of what led me to seek training in the field of Hypnosis to continue on my path of helping others to assist themselves. Being visually impaired was never viewed by me as a handicap but rather another one of life’s challenges (how could I view it any differently because I have the privilege of working with a handsome four footed dude named Capone, my seeing – eye dog). My cup is always half – full! The question always was how do I achieve my goals and not let a defeatist attitude rule my life. I graduated from university with a B.A. in psychology and then spent 21 years working in the field of vocational rehabilitation (I am a retired certified Canadian rehabilitation counsellor). I assisted the disabled to gain entrance into the work force for the first time or following an injury. I worked with individuals, born with a disability, injured on the job or in motor vehicle accidents; assisting them in determining alternate employment paths. I also have experience as a tutor as a distance education instructor. I instructed, marked, and graded student papers and assigned the final course grades of as many as 80 students at a time. I tutored rehabilitation students in the introduction courses for the vocational rehabilitation program offered through Seneca College’s distance education program. I had to leave the rehabilitation field with no visible job prospects but I was determined not to let being disabled lead me to remaining unemployed and/or possibly being on a disability pension. If other employers would or could not hire me, I would hire myself. I also have been using meditation and self – hypnosis for many years. This knowledge and my insight into past lives due to my medium ship and channeling along with my desire to continue helping others led me to a career in not only Hypnosis but also in using my medium ship and channeling abilities to assist others in gathering insight into their lives and the eternal path of learning and growth that we all travel upon towards our goal of advancement and enlightenment. In addition Capone and I share our lives with our family, friends and our one feline companion named Misha. Being spiritually grounded, I believe everything happens for a reason and take total responsibility for my life, disabilities and all.
